Greyhounds became very fashioned in the roaring twenties, swapping their hunter image to elegant domestic animals. They have been a source of inspiration for a lot of painters and sculptors of that time, especially as the greyhound racing track of Courbevoie was successful. This fastest dog in the world, corresponded to that new society looking for movement and speed.
Offered with one (in that case called SLOUGHI) or two dogs, Max Le Verrier naturally produced these two sculptures of Jules Edmond Masson and included them in its collection.
